Character Potential Items are items used to unlock nodes on Character Potential Boards. Different types of nodes require different items to unlock them.

Regular nodesEdit

See also Descension Bosses

Regular nodes increase character stats. They require flagons and decanters of different colors. Each color corresponds with one of the stats - red for Attack, blue for Defense, yellow for Magic, and purple for Mind. HP nodes require several colors to unlock.

Flagons and decanters are obtained via rotating special descension bosses (and occasionally as rewards from other events).

It's possible to exchange different colored items with each other in the exchange shop, but the rate is 2-to-1, so it is usually not worth it.

Party Assist nodes

Not every character has a Party Assist node. If one exists, it is unlocked with a mix of flagons and decanters of all colors.

Stat cap nodes

Among regular nodes there are several with an Odin Medal icon which raises the stat cap of the character. They won't raise stats, but instead they increase the max stats characters can get via other means. It's usually only needed if you have Legendary weapons or Soul Sublimated later-generation characters.

These nodes require Odin Medals to unlock them, which are gained from the monthly event Valhalla Assault and the Fruit of Idunn shop for Tyr's Battle Arena.

Item Name Comments
Odin Medal Odin Medals One of the currencies during monthly Valhalla Assault events.

Special nodesEdit

Special nodes look like locks on the board and need special items to get past them.

Attack number nodes

These nodes increase number of normal attacks character can perform. They are usually unlocked with Yggdrasil Branches. Branches can be gained from the events or it's possible to exchange any artifact into 2 Branches (usually not recommended).

Gacha characters can use additional copies of their own artifacts instead of Branches to unlock more attacks. Star version of the characters (like Eventide Hakurei★) can use artifacts from their normal versions too.

Story and collaboration characters can also use Talismans. Each weapon type has a different Talisman. Talismans are gained from special event gachas.

Item Name Used for
Yggdrasil Branch Yggdrasil Branch For all characters, unleash a new Attack Count in Potential Force.
Sword Talisman Sword Talisman For some characters, unleash a new Attack Count in Potential Force.
Greatsword Talisman Greatsword Talisman For some characters, unleash a new Attack Count in Potential Force.
Bow Talisman Bow Talisman For some characters, unleash a new Attack Count in Potential Force.
Staff Talisman Staff Talisman For some characters, unleash a new Attack Count in Potential Force.
Elemental damage nodes

Every character has a node that grants them +25% or +50% damage of a single element type. Depending on the character, this is either unlocked with a copy of their Artifact or a Talisman. In general, story and collaboration characters require talismans to unlock this node, and gacha characters require a copy of their artifact.

If a character needs a Talisman for their elemental damage node it is recommended you unlock it before using talismans on additional attacks, as additional attacks can always be unlocked with Yggdrasil Branches, and talismans are much rarer.

Small lock nodes

Each branch on the potential board has 2 small locks. Such locks require Mirror Fragments or Bangles to unlock them. Mirror Fragments are acquired by exchanging unneeded weapons in the Exchange Booth. Bangles are gained in events.

The first lock on each branch requires 100 fragments or a Silver Bangle. The second lock on the same branch asks for 300 fragments or a Gold Bangle.

Item Name Used for
Mirror Fragment Mirror Fragment Unleash locks of a branch on the Potential Force board of a character.
Silver Bangle Silver Bangle Unleash the first lock of a branch on the Potential Force board of a character.
Gold Bangle Gold Bangle Unleash the last lock of a branch on the Potential Force board of a character.
